SHRM I Am SpeakingIn this fast-paced, interactive, 4-hour pre-conference workshop, leaders learn how to use the science of organizational networks to validate succession plans, find hidden high performers and critical connectors, and set up new hires for success. We learn about the types of networks that typically form in organizations, the critical connectors that act as key influencers, and practical methods for leveraging networks. We develop plans for using network knowledge to improve succession planning and talent development. After the workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the difference between social networking and organizational networks
  • Understand the types of networks that typically form in organizations and the three critical roles in networks
  • Understand how the 3 critical roles can help HR professionals identify and develop more effective and accurate succession and development programs
  • Understand how companies have used network analysis to develop the workforce
  • Develop plans to apply network knowledge to current and upcoming human capital development and succession planning initiatives

All in all,HR leaders will gain the ability to use networks that already exist to dramatically improve succession and talent management initiatives.
