Navigating Global Complexity: How Bayer Used Organization Network Analysis to Build a Connected, Collaborative Organization
October 9, 2016 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm EDT
See conference websiteComplexity is increasing. Leaders struggle to bring alignment and focus among the intricate interconnections, profound diversity, and local demands pulling on staff around the globe. Organizations require new tools to realize the true benefits of globalization, collaboration, and shared resources.
One such tool is organization network analysis (ONA). Based on a case study with a client seeking to become a global organization, this session will help OD practitioners understand how what it takes to become an effective networked leader and manage the complexity of dispersed individuals and teams. Through experiential activities designed to encourage network thinking, participants will rethink how leaders design, shape, and nurture talent within a global network.
Specifically, participants will learn:
- The value of using ONA to build connection and collaboration across global organizations.
- How to increase organizations’ potential to recognize those actually doing the work well, not just those who fit cultural expectations and who have leadership exposure.
- Through a case study, demonstrate how leaders can transform from transactional leaders to networked leaders in a global organization.
- How network maps can be used to help coach leaders and better engage virtual team members.
Presented with Kittie Watson of Innolect, Inc. and Lisa Coen, former public affairs leader at Bayer CropScience.
