By the end of the workshop, participants can facilitate basic ecosystem mapping projects and analyze basic ecosystem maps. We include a 90-minute, web-based review session approximately 6 weeks after the initial workshop to identify and resolve challenges resulting from participants’ experiences with ecosystem mapping.
Results: Ability to scope, plan, and facilitate ecosystem mapping projects; ability to analyze the health and productivity of a specific ecosystem and a target organization within it; ability to conduct basic ecosystem analysis and some advanced analysis; and ability to identify red flags and issues requiring immediate attention within an ecosystem.

The Forest and the Trees: Understanding Business Ecosystems NEW!

Companies work in complex, overlapping, constantly changing environments. Today’s customer landscape is not tomorrow’s. Yesterday’s star employees are not today’s. And who knows what the economy will do in the future? Yet companies need to continue producing and performing amidst these changes. Creative companies even find opportunities in their ecosystems amidst the tumult.
It’s hard to see the forest—the ecosystem—when you’re stuck in the weeds. Many professionals find themselves unable to see the big picture. In this session, participants gain a tool to help assess the forest as well as the trees. Participants learn a simple, yet robust, methodology for mapping business ecosystems. We walk through two case studies.
