Business Ecosystem Model developed by Dr. James F. Moore
Business Ecosystem Model developed by Dr. James F. Moore

Business ecosystems are dynamic webs of interdependent organizations and entities that rely on each other for success.

Business ecosystems are complex and ever-changing. New entities enter, some take on different roles, and others exit. Despite the complexity, we can create ecosystem maps that help us increase our understanding of the whole, identify how value is created, understand power dynamics and assess players, learn where and how the system breaks down, and make smarter decisions about collaboration and problem solving.

Not restricted to corporations, “business ecosystem” can describe any complex, human-based ecosystem, such as the Austin adolescent health care system, grassroots Brazilian music movement, or Columbia Basin salmon recovery initiative.

Business Ecosystem Mapping & Analysis is an interactive, engaging program that provides a concrete, in-depth experience with business ecosystem mapping and analysis. By the end of the program, participants will be able to facilitate ecosystem mapping and analysis sessions with stakeholder groups.

This workshop is hosted by Oregon Consensus.
